Andy Towles, 75, passed away February 14, 2025, in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was born May 25, 1949, in Dallas, TX, to Nancy Eleanora Currin Towles and Henry Clay Towles, Jr.
Andy graduated from Casady High School in Oklahoma City where he enjoyed many friendships and was a star athlete. After high school, Andy attended OU and Central State University, where he met the love of his life, Kathy Lou Rogers, at a Campus Crusade for Christ meeting. Kathy and Andy married in May of 1970 and have two daughters, Niki and Suzi. Andy spent his career as a commercial and residential builder with projects in Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona and California.
The passion of Andy’s life was sailing. As a young man in his twenties, he qualified for the U.S. Olympic sailing team but chose to attend college instead. He continued to sail throughout the United States until the end of his life. Andy was a lifelong member of the Oklahoma City Boat Club. He enjoyed sailboat racing and the many friendships he made through his involvement in the sport. Andy also enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially his trips to Sturgis and the Florida Keys on his beloved Indian. Andy was famous for his great sense of humor and was always ready with a wise crack, a grin, and a twinkle in his eye.
Andy was a strong believer in his lord and savior Jesus Christ. Andy was baptized at Southern Hills Christian Church, Edmond, in the 1970’s and was attending there at the time of his death.
Andy is survived by his two daughters, Niki and Suzi, and their spouses Brett and Marc and grandchildren Anna Beth, Jenna, Katherine, Matthew, Tanner, Sadie, brother Paul and his husband Peter of the Netherlands, sister June and her son James and wife Sarah of Edmond, sister-in-law Karen and her daughter Katy and husband Alex of Oklahoma City, and many cousins.
