Betty's Obituary
Betty Jo (Vaughn) Chronister lived a beautiful, dignified life. Born April 11, 1932, Betty passed peacefully April 23, 2022, in her home. Selflessness and kindhearted were two traits that highlighted her personality. Betty was a hard worker, resilient figure in the face of adversity with an unassuming and disarming smile that could put anyone at ease.
Betty was married to Sharon Tom Chronister. From this union eight children were born. After divorcing in 1971, her children were her sole focus. With her children came all their friends who affectionally called her mom, designating her “Mom of Britton.” She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children. Anyone who knows them, knows that she was a star in their eyes, and that is all that mattered to her. Betty, champion breast cancer survivor from 1980, continued to be an outstanding role model thru the demanding health challenge and true hero for her children.
Survivors include 7 children: Chris Chronister, John Chronister, Cindy Rowan (Joe)
Brenda Rodenberger, Linda Martin (Hershel), Joe Chronister, Jane Kirton (Robert). 14 Grandchildren; Misty Chronister, Kristy Chronister, Melinda Stear (Eric), Ricky Gregory (Melissa), Lindsey Rowan, Lauren Rowan, Betty Walker (Steven), Susan Stewart (Cody), Matt Rowan, Robert Chronister II (Sarah), Amanda Spirek (Scott), Colby Rodenberger, Hunter Kirton (Chelsea), Colton Kirton. 8 Great Grandchildren, bonus grandchildren, many cousins, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her third child, Cheryl Kaye, her parents, two sisters and two half-sisters.
Services will be Friday, May 6th at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Crossings Community Church, 14600 North Portland.
