Charles' Obituary
A devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather and great grandfather Charles F. Warehime of Edmond, Oklahoma died March 31, 2024, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital. He was 85.
Charlie was born October 28, 1938, in Sterling, Oklahoma to Marvin and Sybil Warehime. Charlie was the oldest of two brothers, Ron and Darrel, and sister, Jean. He was raised in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Charlie was a brick mason for over forty years. He worked his way from an apprentice to owning his own company. Along the way, he fought for better wages for laborers and masons, and he enjoyed mentoring in the field of masonry. Some of his builds include the iconic Fire Station No. 1 in OKC, Oklahoma State University Veterinary School, and dormitories at the University of Nebraska to name a few. Charlie successfully left his signature on numerous structures throughout the state of Oklahoma.
Charlie wed Brenda J. Haynie in 1955. They were married for 34 years until her passing in 1989. Charlie later wed Nancy Hughes in 1994, and they enjoyed 29 years of marriage.
Their children are Vickie (Steve) Loughridge, Nick (Brenda) Warehime, and Leigh (Branson) Bloskovich. Grandchildren: Ryan (Shanna) Loughridge, Robyn (Mike) Ross, Derek (Kelly) Warehime, Jake (Brandy) Warehime, Berkley and Henley Bloskovich. Great grandchildren: Emily, Brody, Bryce, Kaysen, Kylee, Miller, and Dawsyn.
Some of Charlie’s favorite things he enjoyed throughout his life were coaching youth sports, cars, drag racing, sports, history, and sharing captivating stories. He also enjoyed traveling, dancing, and exercising; especially walking with his buddies.
Charles F. Warehime impacted many during his life and loved the people he was surrounded by. He certainly had a life well-lived.
