Charlotte's Obituary

Charlotte Warren Palmer stepped into eternity on January 13, 2021, with her adoring daughters by her side following a tiring struggle with Parkinson’s disease dementia.

Born July 21, 1941 in Idabel, OK, she was a proud graduate of Idabel Grey High School, Class of 1959. Charlotte received a Bachelor of Science degree from East Texas State College in 1963 and graduated summa cum laude with her Master’s degree in secondary and vocational education from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1984. She spent much of her career as an educator in the Owasso, OK, public schools, before transitioning to be the assistant director at the Peoria campus of Tulsa Technology Center. After her retirement in 2008, Charlotte moved to Edmond to be near what can only be described as an enormous number of much-loved family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, clogging and attending Memorial Road Church of Christ, but most importantly she enjoyed her family. Other than her relationship with Jesus, being a wife, mother and grandmother was her greatest joy. She never missed her grandchildren=s activities and “Monner” made special memories with them, including taking each of them on a trip for their 8th birthdays.

Warm, fun-loving, spiritual, creative and humble, Charlotte was a friend to everyone and loved to help people as well as make them laugh. From teaching Sunday school to working in the prison ministry, her colorful personality and giving spirit will live on in those who knew and loved her.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Palmer of Owasso, OK, and her parents, R.E. and Lottie (Sullivan) Warren of Idabel, OK. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Cowan and husband, Roy; Vicki Arnold and husband, John; Susan Crawford and husband, Ron, all of Edmond, OK; six grandchildren, Mason Banta and wife, Kara; Logan Banta, Griffin Banta, Gage Crawford, Jacey Crawford and Corban Crawford, and two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Emma Banta, all of Edmond and Oklahoma City, OK. Stepdaughter Lesha Olson and husband, Mike of Wagoner, OK; stepson Les Palmer and wife Connie of Owasso, OK, and several step-grand and step-great-grandchildren. One sister, Sue Warren Green, of Edmond, OK; two brothers, Boyd Warren of Idabel, OK; and Wayne Warren and wife, Sue of Broken Bow, OK.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Iris Memory Care of Edmond for their compassionate care of Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or Parkinson’s Foundation at parkinson.org or michaeljfox.org.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Memorial Road Church of Christ, 2221 E Memorial Road, Edmond, OK, 73013. Interment will follow Saturday, January 16, at Denison Cemetery in Idabel, OK.
