Eleanor's Obituary
Eleanor Curtis went to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at age 96. Eleanor was born in Lawrence, KS and is preceded in death by parents Wm H. Wells & F. Elizabeth Wells as well as her husband Clyde Curtis and her beloved sisters Alice, Opal and Wilma. Eleanor attended University High School and the University of Kansas. She had helped build airplanes with her father and had been pilot. She has been an avid swimmer and equestrian. She worked for Estes Photography, as well as, the University Photographic for KU. Beyond being a longtime caregiver & super mom, she worked in Estate Sales, Oil and Gas Industry and Parking Enforcement for the City of Oklahoma City. She volunteered at the Oklahoma City VA and donated items to various charities with her daughter. She had been a member of the Crown Heights United Methodist Church.
She wanted to give special thanks to her coworkers from the OKC Police Dept Parking Enforcement and her Dear Friends near and far. Your love, care, help, kindness and prayers over time have helped her find comfort and joy. You made her feel loved in many moments of pain and worry.
Also special thanks to Legacy Family Hospice and caregivers of Heritage at Brandon Place, Blankenship Family, as well as, Bradford Village.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter Tamara & stepdaughter Cynthia, sister Annette, Grandchildren and cherished Nieces & Nephews. Though distance, health and time have disconnected her communication she did remember and care about each of them.
Eleanor enjoyed book collecting, reading mysteries, her pets, love of horses, fishing and rock hounding.
Eleanor suffered from disrespect and loss of finance by damages by some because of age and placement, or convenience. Her forgiveness is carried through her beliefs and dignity but make no doubt and pay special attention, the debt is still owed! You know who you are.
Funeral arrangements are via Demuth Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, OK and burial is in coordination with Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence KS.
In lieu of flowers donation can be made to CashApp; $Care2Elder to help defer cost of long term care bills, taxes and final estate arrangement.
