Frank's Obituary
Frank William Wall of Oklahoma City OK died from pneumonia and health complications, after a years-long battle with cancer, on Thursday evening, October 12, 2023 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, with his sons at his bedside. He will forever be loved and missed.
“I Don’t Worry, I Just Care More Than Anybody Else.
I was born on June 27, 1955 in Bartlesville OK to Alice Roberta Rice Wall (“Bobby”) and James Isaac Wall (“Curly”).
I graduated from high school at Sooner High in Bartlesville OK in 1973, then from college at Oklahoma State University in 1977, and finally from The University of Oklahoma’s College of Law in 1981. I was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and practiced law in Oklahoma City OK for many years.
I loved sports, especially Oklahoma State University sports, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Classen SAS Comets. And I also enjoyed coaching little league sports. The greatest joy in my life was my two sons – Ivory Nicholas Clegg and Ryan William Wall. The greatest reward for me, as a parent, was to live to see my boys grow up to be kind, caring young men. I love you. I’m proud of you.
I was preceded in death by my parents, James Isaac Wall and Alice Roberta Rice Wall, my only brother, James Robert Wall (“Jim”), both sets of my grandparents, James Frank Rice Sr. and Alice Lorena Bessett Rice, and William Nelson Wall and Grace Elizabeth McGee Wall, both my great-aunts, Alma Bessett and Florence Cage, and all my aunts and uncles, James Frank Rice Jr. (“Bud”) and Iris Davis Rice, Howard Newton Wall and Vella Gray Wall, and William Dolphus Wall and Melva Lavon Fry Wall.
I am survived by my two sons, Ryan William Wall and Ivory Nicholas Clegg, their wives, Aubrey Welch Wall and Amber Arterberry, my grandchildren, and my niece, Jennifer Wall Harrod. I am also survived by two life-long friends: Dan Calnan, who I have known since the ninth grade and I loved like a brother, and Marilyn Green-Bostick, who I have known since I was a freshman in college and I loved like a sister. And, lastly, I am survived by my dog, Dooby, a constant companion in my later years that gave me great comfort and joy.
1. I was lucky to have loved ones that made saying goodbye so hard.
2. Epic foosball table games with Ryan.
3. Special thanks to Amber Arterberry.
4. I felt privileged and grateful of having been a part of the lives of my sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, niece, 50+ years of friends and family, and all those that preceded me in death. I appreciate and love you all.
In lieu of flowers, if you know someone suffering from a mental illness or disorder, give them a hug or encourage them to seek help. Alternatively, you can make a donation to the Animal Shelter or Humane Society.”
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 19th, 2023 between 2pm and 4pm at The Olie, located at 2412 N. Olie Ave in Oklahoma City, OK, 73106.
