Kenneth's Obituary
Sunday May 5, 2024 at 6:15 in the evening, the Lord took Kenneth Loay Jones of Cashion, OK gently into his arms to deliver him into heaven. There, he was reunited with the love of his life of more than 60 years, Marva Jeanette and their beloved son, Loay. Kenneth died peacefully, in his daughter and son in-law’s home with them by his side. Kenneth was born September 19, 1942 to Loay and Marie Jones at home in Blue, Oklahoma. Kenneth’s father died in 1955, leaving four children, three of which were still in the home for Marie to care for and raise. His daughter, Kathryn, finds it a most remarkable testament to the love the family shared before and after his father’s death and perseverance of his mother that all four of their children became productive and giving adults, mothers and fathers. Kenneth is preceded in death by his adoring wife, Marva Jeanette (Burdick), and precious son, Lester Loay, parents, Loay Theadford and Gladys Marie, his “granny” Cora Adele Bellamy, sisters Lawanda Abbot and Vonda Levins. Aunts Juanita McManus and Lavita Davis, nieces Cathy Miller and Lori Clunn, great nephew Phillip Martin. Survivors include his daughters, Kenna Jeanette, Kathryn Marie and husband Craig Derr, grandchildren, Justine Kathryn and husband Craig Hamilton, Corbin William-Loay and wife Ashlee Derr. Great grandson Jackson Derr and great granddaughters Treece Hamilton and Logan Derr. Brother Donald Jones and “just like a sister”, cousin Linda Pena. Niece Carol Miller and nephews Steven Jones, David Levins and Anthony Levins. All the nieces and nephews from Marva’s family were very much loved by him as well. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren and they adored their Pepa Jones very much. He was especially close to Marty Vanderpool and his wife, Malinda. Marty and Loay were lifelong friends and he along with his parents were neighbors who they visited often. Marty was a very young man himself when his father passed. Kenneth graduated from Blue HS and worked for AT&T until retirement. He loved to tell stories of growing up on the Blue River. Kenneth loved to fish and hunt with his son and his friends and his son in-law when he joined the family and anyone else who enjoyed those things were always welcome. He could make up a song or poem about anything on the spot and remarkably, had a very good singing voice. Kenneth was a Mason, belonging to the Cashion Masonic Lodge. He and Marva were members of the Cashion United Methodist Church where their three children were baptized. He was a giving man who helped many that were in need or ready to help anyone, no questions asked. He will be deeply missed. Kenneth was faithful in his donations to the Shriners Hospital For Children. A special thank to Companion Home Health and his hospice team. Amie, Angela, Jana and Brooke. Your help has not been taken for granted and has not gone unnoticed. His one on one time with Angela was priceless. Graveside Memorial will be held at a later date.
