Kenneth's Obituary


Kenneth Louis Sosna, “Kenny”, 66, resident of Oklahoma City, OK passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and his ponies on Monday September 19, 2022, after a thirteen month battle with cancer. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, George K. & Helen R. Sosna, his sister Mary Fanning Taylor, and nephew, Robert Kenneth Kott. He is survived by his sister, Sharon H Ellington and her husband, Carl Rod of Oklahoma City, niece Michelle D Kott of Tulsa,OK. his sister Janet Ruth Sosna, DC and her husband, H Alexander Ivey, of the Republic of Singapore, niece, Salley Taylor Bradford, her husband, Brian Bradford, and grand-niece MaryBeth Bradford. He leaves behind many, many dear friends who loved him and miss him greatly already. 

Ken was born Oct 8, 1955 in Nyack, NY to George K & Helen R Sosna. He was the first child of their marriage.

Kenneth was raised in Valley Cottage, N.Y. on Sosna Lane,with sisters Sharon & Janet. He was diagnosed with ataxic cerebral palsy in early childhood. He attended BOCES vocational school as well as attending Florence Darlington Vo Tech with various diplomas. The Sosna family moved to Society Hill, South.Carolina in 1974. While in SC, he worked as a newspaper carrier for The State, and as a representative for Curtiss Industries with his father George. Shortly after his parents passed, Kenneth moved to Oklahoma City, OK in May of 1995 to live with his sister Sharon. Here he became known eventually as the "Pony" man. He helped many of his neighbors with car and home repairs. If anyone knocked at his window or door, he would jump to their rescue to help them.

His memorial service will be held Wednesday September 28th at 3:00 P.M. at St Paul's Cathedral, 127 NW 7th ST, Oklahoma City, Ok 73102. His interment will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Society Hill Presbyterian Church, Society Hill, South Carolina 29532 In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Paul's Cathedral Mobile Meals, The Compassionate Friends of NWOKC, or any cancer agency of your choice, please.
