Mary's Obituary

Mary Margaret “Maggie” Schnorrenberg (née Ceeder) died after a long illness in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on March 12, 2022, at 77.

Maggie is survived by husband Bobbie Jerrell “Bob” Schnorrenberg; sister Carol Ceeder Mullen; nephew Jon Loffi (and spouse Ruth Loffi), nephew Mark Weigel (and spouse Charlotte Weigel); and stepchildren Donald Schnorrenberg (and spouse Mary Schnorrenberg), Ellen Edwards (and spouse Brian Edwards), and Carol Loughmiller.

The extended family comprises two grandnieces, Brannon Loffi and Marquita Weigel Evans, one grandnephew, Matthew Loffi; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, grandnephews, and grandnieces; and much cherished Edith the cat.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Stephen Godfrey, parents, Matthew A. and Evelyn (Burns) Ceeder, and sister, Autumn Ceeder Loffi.

Maggie was born on June 3, 1944, in Erie, Pennsylvania. She graduated from McDowell High School in 1962 and studied art at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma.

After moving to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Maggie began working for Nieman Marcus as a model.

Maggie was a gifted artist and used her talent as a “builder” of Belsnickels, and a self-effacing cartoonist. She had a penchant for all things “Southwest style,” which was reflected in her artwork. Her flamboyant style was highlighted in the Oklahoma Real Estate magazine. It showcased her unique hand-painted pots adorning the kitchen cabinets and garage door. She was a vibrant lady with a beautifully infectious laugh. Maggie was a devoted animal lover, having shared life with a menagerie of creatures ranging from a parrot to Scotty dogs and everything in between.

She was a dedicated and passionate director of the yearly “Gridiron” production, a longtime political parody show that provided college journalism scholarships.

The family would like to thank Lionwood Independent Living Center and Hospice care for their genuine care. The family is grateful for the condolences but declines flowers and donations.
