RON D. JOHNSTON
Ron's Obituary
Ron passed away peacefully on January 10, 2021 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis and a short Covid-19 illness.
He was born in Springfield, Missouri to Paul F. Johnston and Archie Jane Johnston. The family moved to Oklahoma City in 1952. He married his high school sweetheart Germaine Ann LePree on September 8, 1963 and they celebrated their 57th anniversary last September. They have two daughters, Jeana Diahn and Julie Dianne who were the light of his life.
He graduated from U. S. Grant High School in 1961 and attended Abilene Christian College, Oklahoma Christian College, and Oklahoma State University in Oklahoma City. He worked for Kerr-McGee Corporation from 1965 until his retirement in 2000, starting as an accounting clerk. He retired as Systems Coordinator.
His passions were music, golf, crossword puzzles, and duplicate bridge. He was an avid Oklahoma State University fan. During retirement he loved traveling and spending time with grandchildren and enjoyed converting his collection of vinyl records to digital.
He is survived by his wife Germaine of the home, daughter Jeana Duncan and husband John of Stillwater, OK, daughter Julie Ahlander of Sandy, Utah; grandchildren Maranda Jo Duncan, Hannah Jane Ahlander, Jackson Dean Ahlander, and Leah Elaine Ahlander. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Darrel Bradshaw, James LePree, John LePree; nephews, Kevin Bradshaw, Trevor LePree, John M. LePree, nieces Melissa Bradshaw, Jennifer Peterman, Crystal LePree, grand-daughter-in-law Sara Duncan Massie, husband Shane, their children Adalyn, Elijah, Inman and Lillian, and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by both of his parents and his sister Paula Kay Bradshaw.
A small family service will be held now. When it is safe to gather again a Memorial Service will be held at Mayflower U. C. C. where he was a long-time member.
